CIVITAS Award

The annual CIVITAS Award recognizes cities outstanding in the implementation of ambitious transport policies or activities to achieve clean urban transport. The Award ceremony takes place during the CIVITAS Forum’s Annual Conference. The CIVITAS Forum network’s 58 demonstration cities are eligible to apply for two awards, the 96 non-demonstration cities for one. Winners are decided entirely based on the merit of their applications.

Colin Relf Award

IFRTD (International Forum for Rural Transport and Development) would like to encourage all young people (35 and under) from developing countries with an interest in rural transport and development to submit an entry to this award. Colin Relf was a founding member of IFRTD and a strong supporter of the network and its activities throughout his life. The Colin Relf Young Voices Award celebrates Colin’s interest in rural transport and his concern with promoting and motivating the people with whom he worked.

EuroBike Award

The EuroBike Award gives consumers a sense of orientation in the bicycle sector, shows them what is innovative and functional or environmentally friendly and sustainable. Over the past few years, it has developed into an outstanding marketing instrument for the bicycle industry.

European Green Capital

The award marks a city's wish and capability to solve environmental problems in order to both improve the quality of life of its citizens and reduce the contribution it makes to the global environment as a whole.

European Mobility Week Award

The European Mobility Week Award rewards the city with the best overall record in providing awareness and carrying out projects which contribute to a complete shift towards sustainable city transport.

International Transport Forum Award

The Young Researcher of the Year Award recognises the work of a young researcher or researchers submitting the best research paper on the theme of the annual International Transport Forum summit. The International Transport Forum is invites young researchers from around the world to submit original work on this theme for this prestigious award.

ITF UITP Prize for Outstanding Innovation in Public Transport

The two leading international voices in the transport sector, the International Transport Forum (ITF) and the International Association of Public Transport (UITP), encourage public transport-related organisations to respond to the call to be acknowledged for their successful innovative approaches that improve public transport systems by making a claim for the 2010 ITF-UITP “Outstanding Innovation in Public Transport Award”.

Ministry of Urban Development (GOI) Award

the objective of the award is to recognize the achievement of Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) which have undertaken initiatives in the areas of urban reforms and service delivery achievements. In addition, it is envisaged that some of the innovative initiatives undertaken by the ULBs will be showcased and shared with other ULBs, and, as such, this will provide an opportunity for ULBs to learn from the experience of their peers.

Pan-European Workplace Mobility Plan Award (PEWTA)

The Pan-European Workplace Mobility Plan Award was created to reward efforts to reduce CO2 emissions in urban areas by implementing workplace mobility plans. The PEWTA is awarded in three categories: Public Authorities, Employers and Networks. This offers the chance to be rewarded for efforts in achieving modal shift away from single occupancy car use and to be recognised across Europe.

Sharon D. Banks Award for Humanitarian Leadership in Transportation

 

This award was established in 2001 in memory of Sharon D. Banks, who was the General Manager of AC Transit, Oakland, California, from 1991 to 1999 and served as Chairwoman of the Transportation Research Board Executive Committee in 1998. The award, which may be presented biennially, is intended to recognize sustained leadership accomplishments and innovations, over an extended period of time, that exemplify her ideals of humanity and service. Selection of recipients is made by a selection committee appointed by the Chairman of the TRB Executive Committee.

Sustainable Transport Award

Every year, the Sustainable Transport Award is given to a city that has had a profound impact on enhancing the sustainability and livability of its community or region through innovative transportation strategies, while lessening the impact of climate change through reduced transportation greenhouse and air pollution emissions.

TAC - Sustainable Urban Transport Award

TAC has established an award to recognize exemplary contributions by a TAC member in the area of sustainable urban transportation. The award is open to all members of TAC and their respective staff including all individual members, private companies, public agencies, academic institutions and related transportation organizations. Members who have made a contribution to the development and enhancement of sustainable urban transportation and who have been particularly innovative in their approach to moving sustainable urban transportation forward would be eligible for the award.
