ICLEI and Changwon City have launched the EcoMobility Alliance, a select group of ambitious cities that have achieved excellent results in certain dimensions of sustainable mobility, and that strive to reach similar results in other EcoMobility fields. We welcome applications from cities worldwide that are eager to take on the challenge of EcoMobility excellence.

European Commission vision for a competitive and sustainable transport system
The European Commision has recently released a new white paper: Roadmap to a Single European Transport Area-Towards a competitive and resource efficient transport system. It features strategies, goals, and comprehensive information to prepare the European transport area for the future.
Shanghai challenges
An article found on Urban Age featured Shanghai's struggles in achieving sustainable mobility and transport solutions. The article highlights key challenges in an ever populated and growing society that is car oriented. The Global Alliance for EcoMobility hopes for cities with such challenges to participate in EcoMobility 2011, the upcoming congress on mobility for the future of sustainable cities. Participants will learn how to transform their city to support EcoMobility and create more sustainable transportation systems in their cities.
