E-mobility, which refers to vehicles running on plug-in electricity for their primary energy, is developing at increasing rates, but nonetheless faces many challenges. Consumers will not instantly shift to electric vehicles, especially if costs are high, the appropriate infrastructure is not in place, and the new technologies are not known or understood. This report explains how a range of actors including car manufacturers, battery producers, energy suppliers and distributors, and politicians will have to work together to ensure a successful transition to electric vehicles.
